Senior cruises are the perfect way to enjoy the best times of your life. Favorite cruise destinations for seniors include Alaska, Hawaii and Panama Canal. Seniors
can enjoy lounging by the pool on a deck chair with a good book,
or a game of cards. Or they can be as active as their hearts desire
with excercise classes, dancing lessons, wine tastings, singles
parties, and more.
When
it comes to dining, guests can opt for a low-calorie lunch, pasta
preparred at your table in the dining room or a cheeseburger and
fries at the pool buffet. Dinners are five to seven course meals
and often feature international specialties. Depending on the
ship selected, passengers can dress formally or dine as casual
as they want to be.
Deciding what
features are important to you is a priority: perhaps you are single
and female and would like to dance before or after dinner; then
you should consider ships that feature Gentleman Hosts. Gentleman
Hosts are men over 50 who dance with the unescorted ladies. You
may also be assigned to dining room tables with other single men
& women traveling alone, and attend a variety of social functions
aboard.
If you have an interest for in-depth sightseeing, inquire as to whether your cruise offers pre- or post-cruise extensions. These packages include anywhere from 1 to 3 nights at a hotel in your port of embarkation or debarkation. It's a great way to make the most of your sight-seeing time. Such packages often include a tour, meals, or a special event. For those looking for more in-depth land exploration, a cruise tour is highly suggested. Part of your intinerary will be spent cruising (with several port stops), and then you'll disembark for a land tour (with overnight stays in hotels). Alaska is just one destination that offers cruise tours.
Medical Facility: Many
seniors ask us "Is there a doctor on board". The
answer to that is simple....yes. Though the following information
is important and should be read by all passengers before booking
a cruise, especially so if one has an existing condition.
Should a guest require medical attention while
aboard a cruise ship there is an Infirmary staff available to
assist 24 hours a day. The Infirmary is equipped to treat minor
non-emergency matters. Physicians are available to render services
at a customary fee. A charge for medical services will be billed
to the guest's on board account and a receipt will be provided
for the guest to submit to their insurance company upon return
for possible reimbursement. The physicians on board are independent
contractors and are entitled to render services at a customary
fee which may vary from ship to ship based on the time of day.
The basic fee does NOT include medication, tests or treatment.
Typical medical Infirmary hours for most cruise
ships:
Infirmary Hours: 8:00am - 8:00pm
Doctor's Hours : 9:00am - 11:00am; 3:00pm - 6:00pm
Services Offered for Passengers with Special
Needs: Accommodations for guests medical
needs including oxygen and dialysis are available. A variety
of equipment is also available onboard, such as shower stools,
bed extensions, raised toilet seats and transfer benches Wheelchair
accessible staterooms, & activities are aslo available.

On every sailing, Crystal Cruises offers a host program that includes carefully screened gentlemen with interests and backgrounds similar to those of the single mature female guests. Each distinguished Ambassador Host is cultured, well traveled and an accomplished ballroom dancer.

Age range aboard the
Seabourn Pride, Spirit and Legend averages bewteen 45 to 75.

wine tastings. Programs may include photographers from National

Known as "The Most Famous Ocean Liners in the World", crossing the oceans on Cunard Line is a majestic experience, not merely a hop across the pond, as some would have it. For travellers of this persuasion, only one name evokes the pleasures of a golden era. That name is Cunard Line.
It couldn’t be easier to meet people on board a Cunard ship. Not only are you cordially invited to a welcome cocktail party for all guests, you might also want to consider joining a larger table for dinner in order to get to know more of your fellow voyagers. On-board activities like classes and quizzes are a great way to make new friends. If you’re travelling alone don’t forget that, unlike most other ships, QE2 offer lots of staterooms for single travellers. For ladies travelling alone, there are gentlemen hosts on board to accompany you in a waltz or rumba.
